Friends of Banks Peninsula have made a submission to the Christchurch City Council Annual Plan 2020-21 where we have addressed the following points:
We submit that in these financially and environmentally difficult and uncertain times the priorities should be:
· Focusing on climate resilience - combining recovery from COVID-19 with a focus on mitigating and adapting to the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
· Investing in waste minimisation and recycling processing.
· Minimising risk – we identify the Wastewater projects in the Akaroa Harbour as high-risk, big ticket items that must be revisited
