Pavitt Cottage Open Day

Friends of Banks Peninsula was delighted to be involved with the Pavitt Cottage Open Day in Robinsons Bay on the 8th and 9th of February. This was a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy the beautiful historic cottage, take the self-guided walking tour around the house and property and finish up with tea and scones in the garden! With 31 people through the cottage on the Saturday, and 83 on the Sunday it was wonderful to know that a total of 114 members of the community have now gained a better understanding of the history of the Valley, the significance of the heritage site at the Pavitt Cottage, and also learn about the Akaroa wastewater scheme that may threaten the site in the future.

Many thanks to Nancy and Bryan Tichborne and Dick Fernyhough for all of their hard work, knowledge and also the generous donation to Friends of Banks Peninsula as a result of a raffle they had run on the day.
