Christchurch City Council has informed all submitters that the Wastewater Hearings are on hold due to a massive error! The flow meter on the existing plant has not been calibrated since it left the factory and has been UNDERESTIMATING the flow of water. Hence the land area needed for irrigation, the storage ponds and the costings in the consultation are all incorrect. The mistake was only discovered when staff investigated the Purple Pipe network overwhelmingly favoured by submitters. That option was only added to the consultation options at the last minute as a result of the hard work of the FRIENDS of Banks Peninsula representatives on the Community Board Working Party.
